The following classes of Membership are available.
By nomination and a membership election a member who has been for at least three years a MEMBER of the Society, and who has been not less than seven years in practice as a consultant at the time of his application for Fellowship. Individual Members of the Society also have the opportunity to take advantage of the FEMAS Membership.
A member who having the appropriate qualifications has been accepted and admitted to Membership of the Society following approved application, and who has been not less than two years in practice as a Consultant.
Associate Member (AMCMS)
Any person who having appropriate qualifications approaching those required for admission to membership, and practising as a junior consultant with a recognised senior consultant for not less than two years (and with prospects of improving his qualifications). Individual Members of the Society also have the opportunity to take advantage of the FEMAS Membership.
Affiliate and student members
Any person without appropriate qualifications who nevertheless is interested in maritime affairs and also wishes to support the Society and its aims may on application and with approval of Council be elected as an Affiliate. Affiliate ship carries no corporate rights.
